Snow Patrol alternative rock band

Snow Patrol are an alternative rock band from Scotland. The band consists of Gary Lightbody (vocals, piano, guitar), Jonny Quinn (drums, percussion), Nathan Connolly (guitar, backing vocals), Paul Wilson (bass, backing vocals) and Tom Simpson (keyboards) formed in 1994 in Dundee, Scotland by Mark McClelland and Michael Morrison.



At the beginning, the band released 3 albums EP (Extended Play) and studio album SONGS FOR POLARBEARS (1998) and WHEN IT'S ALL OVER WE STILL HAVE TO CLEAR UP (2001), which was released on indie label. But unfortunately, this album is less successful in the market.

Snow Patrol until finally moving to a bigger label, Fiction, which is owned by polydor Records in the part of universal music group. Under their new label, they released the album "Final Straw in 2003. The album was a success in the marketplace, and even got up to 4 times platinum for sales in the UK. Single Run, Chasing Cars and Signal Fire became SPIDERMAN 3 soundtrack.

In 2006, Snow Patrol re-released the album, with titles EYES OPEN. Success achieved Snow Patrol return. The album was successfully sold more than 4.7 million copies worldwide. Snow Patrol also successfully nominated to the event BRIT Awards and won 5 awards Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

In 2008, Snow Patrol re-released the album. Under the title A Hundred MILLION suns, the album was released on October 24, 2008 became the fifth album, Snow Patrol. The first single released was the Take Back The City.

Indie Band to watch in 2010 from UK

Indie music movement never die, and Indie Band to watch in 2010 are The XX from UK, Formed in 2005, The xx is the third alternative came from London, England, featuring vocals from Madley Romy double Croft (lead guitar) and Oliver Sim (bass guitar), and supported by Jamie Smith (beats, MPC sampler). Rounding out the group keyboardist Baria Qureshi, who left the group because of pressure from an intensive tour schedule.



Bond of love with the dark, emotive voice and guitar 80s high-end sheen American R & B, The xx a unique sound like a broad band combines a beautiful effect, silent and vocal duet brilliantly inventive use of samples and the low frequency end to produce a cold, sweet, melancholy pop, Indie Pop.

The band released its debut album, xx, August 2009. Album collecting critical acclaim and has been generally well received, the average score of 84/100 based on 20 reviews professional. This album has spawned three singles: the first two (and the Basic Space Crystalised) both have a music video featuring the band, and a third single, Islands, was released in October 2009.

On 11 November 2009, it was confirmed that keyboardist Baria Qureshi left the band after missing a scheduled show, citing exhaustion. The band stated that he will not be replaced, and that they will continue as a three members. And in early 2010 The XX Band will be the next Indie Band to watch.

The New generation of Australian Indie Pop Band is Architecture in Helsinki, using various instruments including trombone, tuba, clarinet, recorder and glockenspiel to make their voices unique. Architecture in Helsinki is a Australian band based in outskirts Northcote in Melbourne. Group consists from Cameron Bird, Gus Franklin, Jamie Mildren, Sam Perry, and Kellie Sutherland.

 

Most members of band can play several instruments. Blond they utilize various instruments, from instruments like analog synthesizers, samplers, who glockenspiel and handclaps; for band concerts instruments like trumpet, tuba, trombone, saxophone, clarinet and recorders; and increasingly many standards guitar, bass and drum.
